We wanted to clear up any confusion popping up about the Ships and Dip cruise. People who'd previously gone on the cruise recently got an email alerting them of one we'd like to do next year. We're doing the cruise and we're just trying to gain some feedback on it right now.  It's coming back in 2011!

Barenaked Ladies – the multi-platinum-selling band whose 11th studio album All in Good Time streets March 23rd (March 30th in the US) – have written a song for Michael McGowan’s Score: A Hockey Musical, which stars Olivia Newton-John, as well as Canadian music artists Nelly Furtado, Marc Jordan, Hawksley Workman and Dave Bidini, and newcomers Noah Reid and Allie MacDonald. The film is shooting in Toronto until March 8.

The BnL’s song is sung by Reid, Workman and Bidini in the film’s first few scenes, where 17-year-old Farley (Reid) is playing shinny with the neighborhood rink rats (Workman, Bidini, among others). Little do they know that Farley’s puck-handling skills – much to the dismay of his intellectual parents (Newton-John and Jordan) – will send him from obscurity to overwhelming fame within a matter of weeks. The song’s lyrics are co-written by McGowan and the BnL.

As a huge fan of the BNL, Michael McGowan says, “Barenaked Ladies were the first musicians I approached about being involved with the film. The group immediately understood what I was trying to achieve and generously agreed to be a part of it. What they delivered musically far surpassed my already high expectations." Although international stars, the BnL (Ed Robertson, Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn and Tyler Stewart) are still based out of their hometown Toronto.

The film – which combines our national sport with musical numbers – includes Nelly Furtado as an ardent hockey fan and Allie MacDonald is Farley’s best friend. Also in the cast are Brandon Firla (TV’s Little Mosque on the Prairie) as an agent, John Pyper-Ferguson (Hard Core Logo, TV’s Brothers and Sisters) as a coach, and Stephen McHattie (TV’s Maurice Richard) as a team owner.

The film will be released October 22 in Canada by Mongrel Media, which also distributed McGowan’s One Week ($1.3 million at the Canadian box office).

Score: A Hockey Musical is being shot in various Toronto locations, including Nathan Phillips Square, Wychwood Park, the Art Gallery of Ontario and Weston Arena. It’s produced and directed by Toronto filmmaker Michael McGowan (One Week, Saint Ralph), who has also written the script and song lyrics.

The film is a Mulmur Feed Co. Production, produced by McGowan and Avi Federgreen, and executive produced by Richard Hanet (One Week) and Jody Colero, with the participation of Telefilm Canada, Astral Media The Harold Greenberg Fund and The Ontario Media Development Corporation, in association with the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit. Cinematography is by Rudolph Blahachek, choreography by Amy Wright (TV’s Grey Gardens) and music composed by Jonathan Goldsmith.

As they gear up for the March 30th release of new album ALL IN GOOD TIME (Raisin’ Records/EMI) multi-platinum pop-rock group the BARENAKED LADIES have announced a U.S. headlining tour set to kick off May 10 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Tickets for most shows go on sale Friday, February 26th.

The tour will see the band performing an electrifying mix of classic hits and fresh tracks, including new single “You Run Away,” which was recently Most Added at both Hot AC and AAA. ”You Run Away” was also part of the band’s set-list during a special headlining show at the Winter Olympics Medal Ceremony on February 16th. On February 11th, Barenaked Ladies vocalist/guitarist Ed Robertson carried the Olympic Torch. Earlier that morning, he discussed the new album, single and the Olympics performance during a special interview on NBC’s “The Today Show.”

To celebrate the release of ALL IN GOOD TIME, every online ticket transaction will include a download of the new album. In addition, fans who redeem the download the first week of the album’s release, will also receive an exclusive bonus track.

The U.S. shows follow a Canadian tour, which kicks off April 6 at the Save on Foods Centre in Victoria, BC (see itinerary below). Barenaked Ladies will be supported by Ingrid Michaelson May 10-15, and Serena Ryder May 16-June 5.

Barenaked Ladies are also proud to announce the launch of their ‘new and improved’ fan club, The Ladies Room. Members receive exclusive content and opportunities plus priority access to VIP ticket packages and presales.

The band (Robertson, bassist/vocalist Jim Creeggan, keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist Kevin Hearn and drummer/vocalist Tyler Stewart) recorded ALL IN GOOD TIME with longtime producer Michael Phillip Wojewoda. Bob Clearmountain (Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones, David Bowie) mixed the album.

For Robertson, the album’s writing sessions followed a tumultuous 2008, a year that saw he and his wife survive the crash of a plane that he was piloting. During that period, he also suffered the loss of his mother, and the band parted ways with longtime bandmember/vocalist Steven Page. “It had been a huge and often dark year and these things took a heavy toll on my psyche and spurred a lot of serious exploring,” says Robertson. “The writing was cathartic for me in a way that writing hadn't been since the early nineties.”

The result is a stylistically adventurous, musically diverse and the most emotionally riveting and honest work by the band to date.

Over the course of the past twenty-one years, the Barenaked Ladies have racked up eight Juno Awards and multiple Grammy nominations, sold more than 14 million albums worldwide, written a plethora of hit singles (including “One Week,” “Pinch Me” and “If I Had $1000000”) and amassed an international fanbase whose members number in the millions. The band also wrote and recorded the theme song to the hit CBS television series, “The Big Bang Theory.”

ET special correspondent Nancy Kerrigan checks in with Mark Steines from Vancouver and reveals she has been partying with the news gals from "Today."

"It's girls' night out," "Today" host Meredith Vieira tells Nancy. "Natalie [Morales] and I … it's something we never get to do and Kristi [Yamaguchi] offered to show us the town."

It was a chance to see the Barenaked Ladies, one of Canada's most popular rock bands, that got the ladies going. Plus it didn't hurt that they had backstage passes and got to meet the band's lead singer Ed Robertson.
